I'm not really back in the swing of things yet, but I did start planning E's big girl quilt.
Fun times!

An absence
Our home laptop bit the dust, at least the video card did, and I'm not feeling so well these days.
I hope to be back soon, but between the house being on the market, spring travels, parenting, and such, it might be a little while.

Fabric projects
Here are a few fabric projects from our crazy get the house ready to sell phase. We needed art and color, but not the family pictures and bright colors that are usually around our house.
Fabric covered canvas and picture frames - I just used masking tape to attach the fabric to the back of the canvas and frames. This is a super simple project for the dining room.

Simple living room pillows. The fabric matches the wall hangings in the dining room.
Another fabric covered canvas... this time I ironed a tree onto the main fabric. This was for our bedroom.

Painting, decluttering, cleaning
The last month has been a little crazy around here. It preparation for a big move over a year from now, we've decided to sell out house so we'll be ready to move cross country when the time is right. As a result, we've painted all of the rooms in our house, decluttered like crazy, and cleaned.
Our house was listed this weekend. It is a little bittersweet; we've loved this house and have so many memories here. We love our neighbor and quiet neighborhood. BUT, we are convinced that this is wise and a step toward where we feel God is leading us.
In the last few weeks, I've been able to think a lot about home and complete several house related projects. In the next couple of weeks, I hope to share some of these thoughts and projects with you... and keep my house super clean for those who come to see it.

Inspired by Pinterest and Lovely Fabric
This was one of the first things I pinned. You know I love fabric and simple ways to bring color into my home.
And here is the result in my kitchen, above the pantry doors.

If you are interested in doing this yourself and would like instructions, tutorials are available at the Purl Bee and Cutting Corners.
Most of the fabric used is Sugar and Spice from Riley Blake, the polka dots are Michael Miller, and the turquoise plaid is from Ready Set Snow by "Me and My Sister" for Moda.

A Little Advice Please?!
We recently acquired a new camera... and for his birthday, my husband wants a pic of the kids. It seemed like a simple enough task until I actually tired to get both kids looking the same direction! I have several great pictures of each child alone, but getting both together was a different story.
So, I ended up with two decent shots of the kids together, but could use a little help deciding which to print. Any thoughts? Please be gentle as I still have so very much to learn and my subjects are 2 and 4.
